DFI - Computational Thinking

Today we learnt about programming and using different apps/resources. The Stop Motion app was easy to use and pretty straight forward, definitely something I will try to implement into my lessons. I found Scratch was a little bit more complex, I'm going to have to have a proper tutu and plan what I want to create. The Bots were cool and also easy to program.

I find it hard to create something in a short timeframe, the combination of not being creative and being a perfectionist isn't a great mix. I change things around a million times before I'm satisfied.

This was the Stop Motion video that Kirsty and I (well mostly Kirsty) had a tutu with today.

DFI - Enabling Access Sites

Social Studies

This week we created our class websties. I found it challenging to make it interesting because I don't have the patience to sit and make things creative. When I plan what I need on my site, I think it will make it easier for me to add all the different elements to make my site  more appealing and interactive.

DFI - Collaborate Sites

Refamiliarising myself with Google Sites. Have come up with some great ideas to use not only in the class but for my marae too.

My practice website isn't complete (or even nearly complete).

Here is my plan and site

DFI - Media

I think the concept of giving the students something to do rather than something to learn because naturally it will demand a train of thought. Getting creative in the classroom is something I am trying and will continue to try and do.

The Pick a Path workshop was great! I will be using this in my SST class as a resource to help my students learn about migration, making decisions, and consequences.

DFI Core Business

Today was our first day at the DFI course. It was a great refresher on things I have learnt in the past but don't use nearly as frequently as I should. I found the remove background website to be very straight forward, I will definitely be using this often. I'm going do my best to introduce the voice typing tool into my Social Studies class and encourage the students to use it when they want to.
